I love the scenery and how laid back everyone is. Everyone is also very nice. The professors are very hard to deal with and it's sometimes overbearing. But the towns surrounding campus are full of life as long as you are 21.
I love the academics that are offered here at the university. I think the sports industry and diversity is average and could use some improvements. The campus dorms are average, they would recommend moving off campus by the time sophomore year arrives. Very community feel campus, it's large enough to walk the whole campus and feel very safe. Dinning hall food is pretty bad, the menu never changes, there's a lot of vegan options but not many options if your not vegan, poorly cooked and varies day to day. Overall, lovely campus, students and faculty are very cordial and has a great learning atmosphere.
This school is very community like. Right when I arrived at school I felt at home. I have not had any bad experiences during my time here and would recommend the university to everyone that enjoys the feel of community and likes to be in both a very small town and near a large city. It has an opportunity for anyone that wants a college degree.
I love umaine. It has great facilities and great people. It has a spirited and positive feel to the campus, and there is so much going on that everyone can find their niche.
I have had wonderful professors this year, and I have had a very good experience with my housing situation and clubs and activities on campus.
I like the community that UMaine naturally has. Since it is my first year I have only met a handful of professors, but so far they have been very helpful in obtaining my goals.
I have taken some duel enrollment classes through the University of Maine. Absolutely a great experience to learn about college as a High school student.
It started out great here. I loved being far from home and the campus seemed great. Now being here a second year, I realize it isn't all that grand. The school takes every ounce of money it can giving you ridiculous charges and finding ways to make you buy the books at the school whether than elsewhere. the education isn't all that grand. Most of the class are basically you teaching yourself and getting in contact with a professor can take days, sometimes over a week. The diversity is also low. The food isn't that good. Also, if you don't like the cold or snow. This place isn't meant for you.
Amazing school full of wonderful students who loce to have a good time. The party scene is amazing it is easy getting into parties and they're everywhere. Academics are also extremely good but the facility is old and the weather is cold.
Get place to study and make new friends. The campus is very nice, great place to walk and look around. The academics are great, the professors are nice and easy to reach out to if you need help. There are a lot of activities around campus so there is always something to do. The food here is average but I think it is pretty good for dinning hall food. Sporting events are always fun to good to and there is a lot of school spirit. There are lot of clubs you can join on campus that can connect to your major. Dorm life is average too, but it is pretty nice to live in.
While the University of Maine is fairly blocked off from the rest of society it seems, it is nonetheless a lively and prestigious state school in its own right. For in-state students, it is very much worth the reduced tuition to come here, as the education is satisfactory for undergraduate needs.
For the most part I enjoyed the professors. It's eye opening to go from high school teachers to professors who treat you like an actual human.
While at the university of Maine, I have had the chance to meet many new people and still have the feel of a small school. I am a nursing major so I get to spend more one on one time with teachers than some other majors.
I plan on attending the University of Maine in the fall next year, I live in the Orono area, so for years I have visited the campus and my family has gone to the school. I enjoy the sports and student life is great! They offer a variety of majors and can get a great education at Maine! Plus prices are very reasonable!
I have liked studying at this university but I have had some downfalls to it. In the 5 years I've been here, I've been through 4 advisors, none of which seem to follow what my plan is. The dean of biology has always been good to me. Financial aid is always willing to listen to me, but not willing to help solve the problems. Activities around the school are good and there is usually some even planned every weekend.
The teachers at the university enjoy their job and it shows in their teachings. Almost all of my professors have been enthusiastic about their jobs. The campus is also very diverse, which is what Maine needs.
The University of Maine has amazing professors, as well as a great variety of courses and majors to choose from.
I love this school and area because every one around here are very personable people. This school has provided me with opportunities I couldn’t imagine such as Greek life and being part of a community. There needs to be more parking for commuters though.
